My visit to Uniqlo

So a week ago from today, I took a needed hiatus. And as part of my newly found love for travelling, I decided to go visit New York City. Oh by the way, if you live in the US and you haven't been, you should definitely consider it. Of all the places worth checking out, I made a quick stop at the Uniqlo store on Soho. I was curious to see what they offered in the realm of anime.

Verdict: While Uniqlo is an awesome brain child of Japanese entrepreneurs, it is mainly focused on the boutique fashion brand image. You can class Uniqlo with the likes of high-end brands like .... umm, Kenneth Cole or HugoBoss. The anime section in the store was embarrassingly small (in terms of % of real estate it occupied in the store). Led me to believe it was a mere gesture to the store's heritage as a Japanese brand. But don't get me wrong what little anime ware they had, was impressive enough to force one to cough up the dough for it. Who knows, maybe the Uniqlo stores in Japan have a heavier anime presence.
